In The Line of Fibre – Megan Cleland
Megan Cleland is a self-taught artist with a passion for felting and weaving. While in Australia, a studio was built on the farm and being surrounded by wool, Megan felted hats and shawls while she spun, wove and knit her own wool.
Megan returned to Canada in 2009 and began to combine her love of portraiture and needle felting. Painting with wool to create realistic portraits and landscapes has been a natural progression from watercolour and pastel with exciting results. With the onset of
the new reality in social distancing, Megan has rediscovered weaving and using natural dyes to add colour to her work. Since moving to Elora in 2015, Megan has started sourcing her wool locally.
